All right mamas, I’m so stupidly excited to bring you this new Beauty Budget 101 series. This is 10,000% inspired by Whitney Hedrick. I highly recommend you follow her on Instagram and YouTube to learn more about her movement. She’s all about looking critically at the beauty industry and unpacking some of the messages it is sending us. She also speaks a lot about financial health when it comes to the beauty industry.
As most of you know, I’m a stay at home mom and my husband is a teacher. Over the last 3 years my beauty budget has been very small. We don’t have a lot of disposable income for me to throw at makeup, so I’ve been very intentional with my purchases over the years. However, that’s not something I’ve been intentional about sharing because I’ve always just done it.
But I think in light of the recent beauty community, including over saturation of product, smart marketing, and the very real FOMO we can sometimes experience, I want to share more about it!
I want to share how I rationalize purchases, what I choose to invest in, how I critically inspect products for certain criteria, and how I make use of my collection. It’s my hope that this series will be helpful to those of you attempting to navigate the beauty space in this day and age!
So keep your eyes peeled for future posts all about Beauty Budget 101!
