Minimal Makeup: How to Look Good Fast

Use these three tips to do your makeup! They're perfectly for getting ready quickly while still looking your best!

If you’re a mom, then you know just how busy life can be sometimes. Between school drop off/pick up, making meals, cleaning, cooking, and managing a household, we often times put our looks on the back burner. We rock the same mom bun and yoga pants without a trace of makeup for three straight days. While there’s nothing wrong with that, sometimes moms want a little more. If that’s you, then you’re gonna love these three minimal makeup tips! They’re easy and quick, but still leave you looking pretty great!

I have my three tips listed below, but don’t worry – I’ll list out how I got this look and the products I used at the end in case you’re curious.

1. Use concealer in the center of your face.

A great way to spruce up your look is to cover any dark circles you may have. This is especially relevant for us tired mamas! Find a concealer close to your skin tone and apply as needed. I like the Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 10. It has medium coverage and a more natural finish.

Personally, I apply it under my eyes, on and around my nose, over my lids, and on the center of my forehead. I find this looks more natural, instead of just having perfectly covered under eyes. Of course, quickly blend out with your damp sponge!

If need be, set with a light layer of powder. I have to, as I have oily skin.

2. Do something with your brows.

If you can’t tell by the picture above, brows truly make a difference in the shape of your face. The great thing about brows is that you can either go low-maintenance or high-maintenance with them for this minimal makeup look.

In the picture above, I went for a more structured look. I used my typical ELF lock-on liner and L’Oreal brow stylist and set. However, on super easy days, I just run some eyeshadow in my brows. It helps to darken them slightly and provide a bit more shape. Oh, and it takes me like 45 seconds!

3. Enhance your lashes.

Mascara will help to open your eyes. As an added trick, smudge some black eyeshadow at the very, VERY base of your lashes. This will darken the roots and make your lashes look even thicker.

The products I use for my minimal makeup look!

Now that we’ve covered the easy tips, let’s go over the entire look!

I started by priming my skin, of course! I used the Milani prime shield, massaging it into the areas of my face with larger pores. I then set that primer with the Milani make it last setting spray. I find this just helps the primer to sink into my skin quicker. Then I coated the aforementioned areas with concealer, blended it out, and set it with the Mary Kay translucent powder. Then I did my brows. Next, I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Amrezy highlight on my cheek bones, brow bones, inner corners of the eyes, tip of the nose, and cupid’s bow. I always need a good highlight! Then I curled my lashes and applied a coat of Mary Kay lash love waterproof. Lastly, I finished off the look with the Mary Kay lip gloss in Beach Bronze. DONE! Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy – minimal makeup finished!

  1. I am such a fan of using some instant age rewind, mascara, brows and a lipgloss when I am rushing out the door. I also do the eyeshadow to fill in my brows trick when I am in a rush. So true about brows, I have just started giving my brows some love lol. New subscriber 🙂 found you Pinterest.

I’ll have to give the age rewind another go! I know it’s such a cult favorite but I don’t remember being terribly impressed with it… Thanks for subscribing! Happy to have you 🙂
